FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Set Starters Launches Beta Version to Support Aspiring Film and TV Professionals
Set Starters, a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering individuals entering the film and television industry, is excited to announce the release of its beta version. This marks a significant step in the journey to provide accessible, engaging resources and support to those looking to break into the competitive world of film and TV.
Set Starters, formerly known as Crew Bible, has undergone a complete rebrand and revitalisation, with a renewed commitment to helping newcomers navigate their way into the industry. Originally launched in 2022, Crew Bible quickly became a vital resource for over 10,000 monthly users, offering guidance and insights to aspiring professionals. However, following its initial success, the site was closed as its founder shifted careers to join the local ambulance service.
A New Beginning: Set Starters
After an overwhelming response from the community, and numerous messages from individuals seeking continued support, the platform has returned under a new identity—Set Starters. Built on the core principles of equality and accessibility, Set Starters aims to ensure that everyone, regardless of background or experience, has the tools and guidance needed to thrive in the film and TV industry.
“The feedback we received after closing Crew Bible was both heartwarming and inspiring,” said Jay Finlayson, Founder of Set Starters. “It became clear that there was a real need for this type of resource. With Set Starters, we’re not only bringing it back, but we’re also doing so with a fresh, modern approach, making sure the content is relevant, engaging, and accessible for today’s generation of filmmakers and crew.”
What Set Starters Offers
As part of its beta launch, Set Starters provides a comprehensive suite of resources aimed at supporting aspiring film and TV professionals at every stage of their career. These include:
Detailed Guides: Covering topics from CV building to on-set protocols. Workshops and Webinars: Interactive sessions with industry experts, providing hands-on learning. Mentorship Programs: Connecting users with experienced professionals for personalised advice. Community Forums: A supportive space for users to engage, share experiences, and seek guidance from their peers. Beta Version Now Live
The beta version of Set Starters is now live and ready to welcome users who are looking for an informative, user-friendly platform to guide them through the challenges of the industry. The organisation encourages patience as the platform continues to evolve, with feedback from early users helping to shape its future development.
“We’re thrilled to be back, and we look forward to growing our community as we find our feet,” said Jay Finlayson. “With this beta launch, we’re inviting users to join us from the beginning and help us build a platform that truly supports the next generation of film and TV professionals.”
